What is UKADIA?

The United Kingdom Arts and Design Institutions Association, or UKADIA, is… 'A group of specialist arts and design institutions from across the UK's higher and further education sectors.'

UKADIA is also a sub-association of GuildHE.

What UKADIA says:

We aim to promote, nationally and internationally, the key contributions of specialist colleges to the UK's world-renowned reputation in visual arts, performance and the creative and cultural industries and to work together as a network to widen participation in Higher Education and encourage mobility into professions serving the creative and cultural industries. What other university groups are there?

UKADIA isn’t the only university group out there. The Russell Group and 1994 Group are both associated with research and are known for doing well in the university league tables.
There is also Million+University Alliance and GuildHE, which represents many universities and colleges specialising in art and design, teacher training, agriculture, music and drama.
Some universities choose not to be part of any group – and this shouldn’t be viewed negatively.
