Why do you want to study this course or subject?

The reason why I have chosen to study in the United Kingdom is that I always wanted to study abroad in the country, where live many kinds of nationalities people. I have taken part in many exchange projects since 12 years old. For example, I have gone to Slovakia with “Amazing Europe” project as well as to Turkey with the project “Through the language to the culture”. Needless to mention, that these opportunities to live and study in unfamiliar countries helped me realize that I am independent enough to live abroad. What is more, I have a passion for traveling and experiencing different cultures. In my mind, If I study in United Kingdom I will meet students from all over the world who are interested in tourism as much as me, what will give me a lot of benefits. Besides that, it would be a great opportunity to improve my English skills and learn it not only in class but in practice as well. All in all, I believe studying abroad is a richer and more fulfilling experience than studying at home.

When it was time to decide what and where I want to study, I was absolutely sure about my decision. I am related with tourism since my childhood because my family has a deep passion for traveling and discovering new places. I was only 5 years old, when I went to an international summer campus in Check Republic for the first time. During the years I have understood, that traveling is not the only way to explore Tourism. Because of that, I took part in “Young Tourist Centre” 5 years ago. I am very happy about this entry today because being part of this organization gave me a lot of useful knowledge and experience to understand the tourism. For example, I have written many various projects about regional studies. Moreover, I had a few opportunities to organize trips around the country and even help to organize international events as well as lectures about tourism. In conclusion, these activities helped me realize, that tourism is a right field for me. Honestly, I can see myself working at tourism industry in the future and it would be a dream came true for me.

How have your qualifications and studies helped you to prepare for this course or subject?

I had to do a yearlong project in the school last year. Because of my dreams to study Tourism, I decided to do a project of Geography about it. My project’s point was to research why Egypt is popular with Lithuanian tourists. While working with it, I visited travel agencies, interviewed their personnel about travels to Egypt. Also, I asked about the statistics of this travel’s destination. In order to know more about tourism in Egypt, I traveled to this country and did a poll with Lithuanian tourists. I had tried to do my best on this project so I was very proud of myself when I finally was graded with highest mark. It encouraged me not to give up on my dream and keep interested in Tourism.

As far as my personality, I always maintain my opinion if I know that I am right. However, I like to hear opposite views, discuss and find the best answer. After that, I am quiet good orator. I have taken parts in many reciters’ contests and won a few ones. Because of that, I am not afraid of speaking in front of the audience and it is kind of treat for me.

What else have you done to prepare outside of education, and why are these experiences useful?

AI generated feedback

This feedback is AI-generated, based on the text of this personal statement:

This personal statement offers a sincere and enthusiastic portrayal of the applicant's passion for tourism and multicultural experiences, which effectively answers the new UCAS questions. The applicant successfully demonstrates their motivation to study the course through real-life cultural exchanges and family influences. The inclusion of a relevant research project adds academic substance to the preparation section.

To improve further, the applicant could enhance the third section by expanding on extracurricular activities beyond formal education, such as any voluntary work, internships, or specific skills developed outside school related to tourism. Replacing generic phrases like "I am quiet good orator" with more polished language would benefit professionalism while preserving the original voice. Additionally, providing explicit examples of teamwork or leadership from the experiences described could strengthen the personal attributes highlighted.

Overall, this statement aligns well with the expectations for a new UCAS personal statement and clearly conveys why the applicant is suited to studying tourism in the UK.
