Here's what Associated Studios Performing Arts Academy says about its Musical Theatre (Professional Performance) 2-Year Accelerated Degree course.
Associated Studios offer a BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre (Professional Performance), validated by Chichester University. This course will be delivered as an accelerated degree, meaning that you can complete your studies in only two years of training, rather than the usual three. On this vocational degree, there are 30 teaching weeks and around 34 contact hours a week. Students wishing to continue to a third year of training can progress to our MA Musical Theatre Performance course for their final year of study.
Throughout the course of your study with us you will develop your skills in all key disciplines required from modern musical theatre artists, including intensive vocational training in Singing, Acting and Dance. You will also be involved in projects to put your skills into the contexts you will find in the industry including: Performing in a straight play directed by well known Theatre Directors, performing in a cabaret, masterclasses with eminent industry professionals, taking part in a monologue slam night and writing and producing your own musical theatre production. The course culminates in a full scale musical production in a London theatre with a full creative/production team, and taking part in both our digital industry showcase, as well as a week-long industry panel week including top London agents and casting directors.
We know London can be an expensive place to live and study, which is why we created a 2-year BA(Hons) degree course, allowing you to train without compromise. Students are eligible to access the government's 'Tuition Fee Loan' and 'Maintenance Loan for Living Costs' schemes, making the BA(Hons) at Associated Studios one of the most affordable, accessible and exciting places to train and grow in the UK.
