Course summary

What this course is about

UCAS code: C801

Here's what Bangor University says about its Psychology with Neuropsychology course.

On this BPS-accredited Psychology degree, you’ll specialise in understanding the structure of the central nervous system and human brain, and how they influence human thought, perception, emotion, language and behaviour. You will also analyse what happens when the brain is damaged or impaired, for example, after head injury or stroke, and how to evaluate, treat and rehabilitate patients.

Traumatic brain injury, biology, genetics or an adverse environment can all affect the brain’s structure, development and function at different stages of our lives. On this BSc (Hons) Psychology with Neuropsychology, you’ll examine how these, and other factors lead to impairments such as memory loss, motor control, learning difficulties or behavioural problems.

Successful completion of this accredited Psychology degree confers eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS and the Graduate Basis for Registration, setting you on the path to becoming a Chartered Psychologist in any of the main psychological professions (clinical, educational, counselling, health, developmental, cognitive neuroscience, applied behaviour analysis).

‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. You can find more information about these options on our website and if you have any questions, please get in touch.

If you don’t have the required qualifications for this degree-level course or are looking to re-enter education after time away from study, then a Foundation Year Programme might be the right choice for you. Please see Psychology (with Foundation Year) C80F.
