Here's what Cardiff University says about its Cymraeg a Llenyddiaeth Saesneg course.
Gyda’n rhaglen BA Llenyddiaeth Gymraeg a Saesneg (BA), byddwch yn datblygu dealltwriaeth drylwyr o’r iaith Gymraeg, ei llenyddiaeth a’i diwylliant, ac yn ymwneud â llenyddiaeth Saesneg o wahanol gyfnodau a diwylliannau, ar draws yr ystod o brif genres llenyddol. Byddwch yn ennill sgiliau lefel uchel mewn Cymraeg a Saesneg ysgrifenedig a llafar, sgiliau allweddol mewn cydweithio a meddwl yn feirniadol, a sgiliau cyflogadwyedd a chreadigol datblygedig sy'n berthnasol i'r Gymru fodern a thu hwnt. Byddwn yn eich cefnogi i ymwneud yn feirniadol ac yn greadigol â phroblemau anodd mewn ffordd feddwl-agored a chydweithredol, gan gynnwys ar bynciau sensitif a dadleuol.
Rydym yn croesawu’r rhai sydd wedi astudio’r Gymraeg naill ai fel iaith gyntaf neu ail iaith. Os yw'r Gymraeg yn ail iaith i chi, byddwch yn cael modiwlau penodol yn y flwyddyn gyntaf a'r ail flwyddyn i ymarfer a gwella eich sgiliau cyfathrebu ac iaith. Ar ôl hyn, mae myfyrwyr iaith gyntaf ac ail iaith yn dod at ei gilydd am y mwyafrif o fodiwlau'r ail flwyddyn, a holl fodiwlau'r flwyddyn olaf. Mae opsiynau modiwl yn eich galluogi i archwilio pynciau fel ysgrifennu Cymraeg hanesyddol a chyfoes, polisi iaith, a chyfieithu proffesiynol.
Ym maes Llenyddiaeth Saesneg, mae’r cysylltiadau rhwng llenyddiaeth a ffilm, celf, hanes, technoleg, iaith, a bywyd bob dydd wedi ein cyfareddu, ac mae ein haddysgu yn adlewyrchu’r diddordebau hyn. Byddwch yn dysgu sut mae llenyddiaeth yn mynd i'r afael â phryderon cymdeithasol, amgylcheddol ac economaidd gyda'r nod o greu byd gwell, mwy cynhwysol a datblygu atebion cynaliadwy ar gyfer dyfodol y blaned. Ym mlwyddyn olaf y rhaglen, gallwch arbenigo yn eich dewis feysydd astudio.
Yn ystod eich gradd, cewch gyfle i ymgymryd â lleoliad gwaith mewn gweithle lle siaredir Cymraeg yn ddyddiol, i ddatblygu eich hyder a’ch sgiliau proffesiynol. Byddwch hefyd yn ymgymryd â thraethawd hir, lle byddwch yn dylunio ac yn cynnal prosiect ymchwil ar bwnc o'ch dewis sy'n ymwneud â'r iaith Gymraeg, ei diwylliant neu ei llenyddiaeth. Mae modiwl craidd blwyddyn olaf mewn Llenyddiaeth Saesneg yn rhoi’r cyfle i chi wneud archwiliad manwl o un testun ar draws semester cyfan a defnyddio’r profiad a’r wybodaeth a enillwyd fel sail i ddarn o waith sydd ar gael i’r cyhoedd.
Byddwch yn graddio gydag ystod o sgiliau proffesiynol, gan gynnwys cydweithio, cyfathrebu a dadansoddi beirniadol. Byddwch hefyd yn ymwybodol o'r heriau ieithyddol a diwylliannol sy'n wynebu cymdeithas a diwydiant cyfoes, a bydd gennych y syniadau a'r hyder sydd eu hangen i'w datrys. Mae’r gallu i ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg ar lefel broffesiynol yn hynod ddeniadol i gyflogwyr hefyd, gan olygu bod gennych gyfle unigryw i ddilyn gyrfa ddiddorol ac amrywiol lle gallwch ddylanwadu ar ddyfodol ieithyddol, diwylliannol, dinesig ac economaidd Cymru.
Nodweddion Unigryw’r Rhaglen Dilynwch eich diddordebau: Dewiswch o fodiwlau ar draws ystod o feysydd mewn llenyddiaeth ac iaith Gymraeg, a gwahanol gyfnodau a genres mewn llenyddiaeth Saesneg. Meddyliwch dros eich hun: Ymdriniwch yn feirniadol ac yn greadigol â gwahanol fathau o destunau mewn ffordd annibynnol a meddwl agored. Antur ac archwilio: Cyfleoedd i astudio dramor yn Ewrop a thu hwnt, gan feithrin annibyniaeth a gwytnwch. Cymraeg yn y gweithle: Magwch eich hyder a'ch sgiliau ymarferol drwy ddefnyddio'r Gymraeg mewn lleoliad proffesiynol ar brofiad gwaith. Cyfathrebu’n effeithiol: Datblygwch sgiliau dwyieithog wrth lunio a chyflwyno eich syniadau a dadleuon ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig.
