They are responsible for designing, building, maintaining and improving bridges, roads, canals, docks, office buildings, hospitals, schools, airports, power stations, railways, flood defences, water-treatment facilities. Completion of this course may lead to membership of professional institutions such as the Institution of Civil Engineers. You'll study through a mix of lectures, scientific experiments and practical work-based training, to gain specialist knowledge in a wide range of areas from site surveying to structural analysis and design to geotechnics. This course is rooted in real-world practice, where you will interpret civil engineering problems, design and construct solutions and put them to the test!
