Here's what Coleg Sir Gar says about its Animal Science course.
The Animal Science level four Certificate of Higher Education is offered via distance learning and is 100% studied online, full time and part time. There is an opportunity on completion of this certificate of progressing to level five study on campus for the foundation degree in animal science or the BSc honours degree in animal behaviour and welfare.
This course provides the opportunity for students wishing to study via distance learning to develop core knowledge and key skills required for undergraduates aiming to, or already working in animal related industries. The programme enables students to study at home at a time that suits them best to develop a range of skills, personal qualities and attitudes necessary to work successfully within the field of animal science.
The course allows students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge in the scientific principles of animal ethology, behaviour and physiology, and the application of this knowledge to animal welfare, husbandry and conservation
Intakes for this course can be in September, January or May each academic year, with a roll on roll off format.

Are you thinking of applying to this university?
Before you do, it's a good idea to go to an open day. You can have a good look around campus, getting a better idea of what it's like to study there. You'll meet current students and staff and get the chance to ask them questions.
Universities will list upcoming open days on their websites. Most will also have virtual open days; these are a great alternative if you really can't get there in person. For tips on preparing for open days, check the advice section here on The Uni Guide.
