Open Day

Are you thinking of applying to this university?

Before you do, it's a good idea to go to an open day. You can have a good look around campus, getting a better idea of what it's like to study there. You'll meet current students and staff and get the chance to ask them questions.

Universities will list upcoming open days on their websites. Most will also have virtual open days; these are a great alternative if you really can't get there in person. For tips on preparing for open days, check the advice section here on The Uni Guide.

The teaching was good but I think it sacrificed giving space and time to learn the basics that would later be assessed in national exams like the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam in favour of delving deep into academic and theoretical aspects of law. For someone choosing to go into academia itu2019s t...

The Durham Geography dept is among the best in the world producing impressive research. The resources of the department are vast and I do not feel limitted. The professors are kind and intelligent. While one or two are better at research than teaching, a real sense of care and effort is shown.

The first year of psychology has a pretty significant online portion, but it's asynchronous and to be honest I prefer the content being covered in an online format. When it comes to research methods and statistics and all the less fun stuff, it really is easier to learn when you can pause and rewind...

The quality of the lecturers is very mixed, but most of them are good enough. In contrast, the tutorials are run well, though the questions rarely resemble what you would see on an exam. The problems classes are very helpful. The workload is manageable and the homework problems are often helpful for...

Pretty good overall, though levels of organisation varied depending on the language. I also feel like we could have benefitted from more contact hours
