Diagnostic imaging

Diagnostic Imaging is central to health care today and is critical in the diagnosis and treatment of trauma and disease. Diagnostic radiographers produce and interpret images of the human body.

Most of Scotland’s diagnostic radiographers graduate from GCU, equipped with the knowledge, competencies and attributes needed to practice in the modern health and social care services

Assessment methods

The purpose of assessment is for learning, in conjunction with testing the student’s ability to demonstrate competence. A variety of summative and formative methods are employed including, coursework, simulated case studies, critical review, reflective reports, written and electronic exams, presentations, posters, clicker quizzes and the final year Honours project.

Additionally, we compile objective structured clinical / radiographic exams utilising digital radiographic images. Students have professional performance assessments which evaluate practical skills within the clinical environment.

Flexible online e-tutorials and exams allow students to choose when and where to undertake these components.
