Here's what Halesowen College says about its Art & Design: Photography course.

Digital marketing is now one of the fastest-growing industries in modern society, every company whether a large high street chain or a local small business needs images to promote what they sell either through online platforms or traditional methods of advertising.

This course offers students a broad introduction to the subject area, effectively building underpinning core skills, and preparing students for further specialisation at Level 5.

The course offers a stimulating and challenging programme of study that will be both engaging and memorable for students, providing essential subject knowledge needed to progress successfully into further study and the world of work.

Delivered in a supportive environment, by staff with a wealth of experience in the industry, students will gain access to necessary resources, including MAC computers, DSLR cameras, and work in the campus’ Photography Studio and Darkroom.

Graduates completing the Level 4 HNC will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the basic concepts of Art & Design. They will be able to communicate accurately and appropriately and have the qualities needed for employment that requires some degree of personal responsibility. Students will have also developed a range of transferable skills to ensure effective team working, independent initiatives, organisational competence, and problem-solving strategies.
