From genetics and cell biology to ecology, conservation biology and zoology, you will lay the foundations for the future of your degree: getting to grips with key skills and discovering where your greatest interests lie. You will also see how these issues relate to the bigger picture, gaining an understanding of how they link to global challenges, such as the maintenance of biodiversity and human health.
In Year 2 you will explore themes such as genetics and evolution in more depth. You can also begin to tailor your degree to your emerging interests.
In Year 3, you can take that specialisation a step further, with a greater choice of modules. You will also complete a research project – your opportunity to make a unique contribution to increasing scientific knowledge in an area of biology.
In Year 4, you can take that specialisation a step further with greater choice in the modules you can choose from. You will also complete a research project – your opportunity to make a unique contribution to increasing scientific knowledge in an area of biology. You will gain additional practical skills by undertaking another more extended research project, as well as studying a variety of master’s level themes.

My course was okay - I believe the course teaches you all the necessary skills needed to go into business, but I think it does scratch the surface level in quite a lot of topics. In the future, Iu2019d like it to go into further detail on topics such as Economics or Accounting.

Lancaster University has been really helpful in so many ways. Financially, they offered me a grant for travel costs when I embarked on an international internship, but also are greater at settling you into campus life in first year!

The accomodation is very overpriced for universityu2019s. It is old unfurbished and the bathrooms are very badly designed. They flood when you shower and you have very little space to shower. It is single bed en-suite for 177.89u00a3 and compared to other unis it is very very overpriced, I feel itu2...
