The BA (Hons) degree in Digital Games Art at LMA is delivered by industry professionals and provides invaluable grounding to embark on a career within the ever developing digital games art industry. From the outset, through experimentation and the development of original ideas, the creation of 2D and 3D assets, environments and characters is at the centre of the course, underpinned by theory and academic study.
Students will be working with industry-standard creative software and game engines used by developers throughout the world preparing them realistically for a successful career ahead.

You will experience a wide range of assessment methods at LMA which focus around your practical development as a Digital Games Artist. In your practical skills modules you will be assessed via your development of annotated portfolios which demonstrate your’ artistic skills development both in terms of traditional art skills and also your mastery of a range of software and digital drawing techniques.
In your creative production modules you will engage with a range of industry focused briefs and projects, creating different artefacts and environments and engaging with the different stages of development that are required within Games Production. You will be assessed both individually, and as part of a team, reflecting the different work practices within the Games Industry. Journals, technical skills exercises and planning exercises are also used which require you to reflect and analyse your own skills and identify ways you can develop in order to become a proficient digital games artist. .
In addition, in the modules where you investigate the games industry and your role within it, you will again experience a variety of assessment methods such as poster presentations, comparative reviews of Games products, and investigative reports examining aspects of the Industry.
