The majority of our offers will be at AAB ?No subject specific requirements ?Majority 7/6 (A/B) grades at GCSE ?Maths and English Language GCSE grade 6/B or above However, we may make some offers at ABB where students exhibit a strong overall profile and fulfil the following requirements: ?Studying 3 A levels from our preferred list of subjects ?Majority of 7-9 (A-A*) at GCSE ?Maths and English Language GCSE grade 6/B or above We may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. While no specific A Level (or equivalent) subjects are required, we strongly prefer combinations drawn from traditional (academic) subjects to demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These A Levels include: Ancient History, Biology, Business Studies, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Languages (non-native), Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology and Statistics.

We consider applicants offering Pre-U Principal Subjects or a combination of the Pre-U and A levels, provided a minimum of three subjects overall are taken. We recognise the benefit of the Global Perspectives and Research (GPR) course in developing independent study and research skills. While we would consider this as evidence of motivation to study a specific subject in more depth, we do not generally include it as part of our offer conditions. However, it may be used to further consider an application upon receipt of final examination results.

Majority 7/6 (A/B) grades at GCSE including minimum Grade 6/B in Maths and English Language. GCSE entry requirement exceptions: GCSE Maths Grade 6 There is no flexibility in this requirement. However, we will consider a grade B in Level 3 Core Maths as a suitable alternative. GCSE English Language Grade 6 If you have achieved Grade 5 in GCSE English Language, we can still consider an application if you have: Grade 6 or above in GCSE English Literature OR At least one essay-based subject* at A Level. Our BSc (Hons) Business Analytics course addresses the growing demand for skilled graduates who can use ‘big data’ to help businesses make better-informed decisions and manage both information and digital innovations to maximise performance.

With the advent of ‘big data’ and rapidly increasing automation of jobs, analytics is used all around us. The World Economic Forum predicts that data analytics will be the main driver of what is called the fourth industrial revolution, impacting all sectors of the economy. The Loughborough BSc Business Analytics gives you a thorough understanding of the main opportunities and challenges brought by data driven, evidence-based decision making in various types of organisations and industries, and helps you understand how to integrate this knowledge with general business and management skills.

Our BSc Business Analytics course will equip you with sought-after skills for a variety of career paths with critical levels of responsibility. At Loughborough we excel at teaching quantitative skills and decision sciences, thus we emphasise management science methods, data analysis and performance evaluation, forecasting and simulation, computer programming, and using databases for analytics. During your studies you will sharpen your skills in practical projects, presentations, and group work, equipping you with valuable transferable skills as well. The programme is designed to open up a range of highly rewarding career options in areas such as business development, consultancy, financial services, marketing and retail analytics, healthcare analytics, and even public services.

Skills for employability is a key part of the Loughborough experience and can really boost your job prospects and this degree has two modules specifically built in to help you develop your study and employability skills. There are also specific modules in entrepreneurship to help those with aspirations to start or develop their own businesses.

Assessment methods

Depending on the nature of the topic, some modules are assessed by a mixture of coursework and examination (for example 25% coursework and 75% examination), whilst other modules are assessed by 100% coursework or 100% by examination.

Coursework is based on a variety of tasks including individual essays, projects, contribution in tutorials, group work, presentations, business reports, problem-sheets and computer-based exercises.
