On successful completion of a BSc (Hons) Business Computing with IT (Top up) students will be able to:

• Autonomously research knowledge and skills in a chosen specialism in order to critique current methods and techniques.
• Identify relationships between different tools and techniques and adapt the use of these in order to solve an abstract problem.
• Critically review the implications, opportunities, limitations and risks of current developments in computer technology to solve problems in a range of solutions.
• Apply professional and ethical issues as they relate to the computing industry.
• Produce a significant piece of work involving problem identification, the analysis, the design or the development of a system, with accompanying documentation.

Modules

Business Systems and Practices (30 credits)
Research skills will be developed regarding the investigation and analysis of Information Systems that are used within organisations.

eEnterprise (30 credits)
eEnterprise provides the digital skills required to establish how current organisations use technologies to enhance their business and also how start-up companies can utilise them.

Negotiated Research (60 credits)
Negotiated Research is the opportunity to design and research your own specific interest within the context of the programme.

Assessment methods

Two units with two assessments each that will involve assignments and a group portfolio

The Negotiated Research unit is double weighted and 10,000 words in total over the year with presentations to propose and present your research
