Why study BA International Business Administration (Top-Up) with us? With the support and flexibility to tailor the course to your individual career goals, you'll build the skills and confidence to succeed in a global business environment. Designed to build on your previous business foundation course or HND, this top-up degree gives you the option to complete your BA in one or two years. If you choose the two-year route, you'll have the opportunity to take on a year-long industry placement, gaining valuable real-world experience. You'll develop essential business and administrative skills to work across a wide range of private and public organisations and learn foundations for starting your business. You’ll explore the key factors behind business success, with a particular focus on the role of management. As you progress, you'll sharpen your analytical and planning skills, build confidence in tackling complex business and management challenges, and develop the expertise needed to become a successful business manager.
What will you learn? This course provides a strong understanding of organisations, their functions, structure and management. You’ll study the key business functions that drive success and build the skills needed to support your career development. You’ll explore international business practices across cultures and learn how stakeholders and partners engage in an international context. Through collaborative projects, you’ll gain experience working in teams and presenting business ideas with clarity and confidence in an international marketplace. You’ll also have the opportunity to build a strong foundation in entrepreneurship, gaining the knowledge and skills needed to set up and run your own business. Our optional modules allow you to tailor your studies to your personal interests and career ambitions.
How do we support your career development? You’ll be part of a thriving international Business School with plenty of support from our expert tutors from a wide range of international business fields. As part of our international business administration course, you’ll have access to a range of workshops, seminars, mentoring and events through our Enterprise Development Hub. Here, you’ll gain extra support to start your own business, develop essential entrepreneurial skills, and learn skills that will give you a competitive edge for a successful career in international business. You'll also have a dedicated Personal Tutor related to your course to guide you throughout your undergraduate journey. If you require assistance with academic writing, numeracy, or library skills, we provide the necessary support. Our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants, who have studied your subject, are available to support you throughout your academic journey.

I was very busy working as an SLA and having another part time job on the side. They recently changed how many modules there are, some of them were merged to create one longer module and it takes a lot of time to catch-up as there’s only 6 hours of contact

The university started a £2 meal after people complained that the food costs were too high, they have a variety of low cost places nearby and every day there’s a vegan option and a halal meat option for the £2 meal

There was quite a lot of support available with the SLA team but that has recently been cut. The SLA team helped answer questions and helped look over assessments and give you feedback

They have a microbiology lab and a cancer lab with samples. You are taught about the microbiology lab in the first year and get to culture bacteria in second year to prepare you to choose what lab based dissertation you want to do

The course has many different subject that are taught 2 at a time for each semester. They have labs and assignments throughout the semester but not as much face-to-face contact with the lecturer only 6 hours per week
