Four GCSEs at Grade C or above You will be required to have 64 UCAS points, this equates to MM at National Diploma, or MMP at Extended Diploma, in a related subject or A Level equivalents. You will need Maths and English GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent. Interview will take place for mature learner entry, where experience will be taken into consideration.

Year One
1. Analytical Methods - This module focuses upon the mathematical strategies and processes involved in solving a wide range of engineering problems.
2. Electrical & Electronic Principles - This module provides an introduction to electrical and electronic theory so that students will have a firm base from which to work when they undertake further studies.
3. Electronics - This module provides an introduction to electronic theory so that students will have a firm base from which to work when they undertake further studies.
4. Developing Graduate Skills - This module is designed to enable students to demonstrate that they have all the qualities and transferable skills necessary for appropriate academic work and employment requiring the exercise of responsibility and decision making, including the ability to relate their professional practice to underlying theory and principles. The module aims to enable students to develop a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that supports their career development and practice.
5. Organisational Behaviour - This module considers how organisational behaviour and attitude influences the behaviour of individuals and groups at work. The module will use a range of theories and managerial approaches to analyse and explain human behaviour at work.
6. Advanced CAD Techniques - This module develops both 2D and 3D modelling skills and the use of computer simulation in support of engineering tasks.

Year Two
1. Engineering Project V - This module is an individual investigation of a routine problem in any of the engineering disciplines encountered in the programme. It represents a significant amount of work in which the student is proactive in managing their own learning and other resources needed to find a solution to the task which will normally relate to the student's place of work.
2. Control Principles - This module applies the principles of electrical and electronic theory to the analysis and design of control systems. Students will develop a knowledge and understanding of modern control systems to practical applications.
3. Electronic System Design - This module builds on the principles of electronics, and develops standard circuits to develop complex systems. Learners will explore multi-stage and programmable systems in both analogue and digital environments.
4. Communication Engineering - A study of commonplace systems to uncover the design philosophy and performance characteristics. To further investigate the underlying principles related to modern electronic communications by applying knowledge of communication theory to current systems.
5. Micro-programmable Systems - This module provides an implementation from micro-programmable device theory to application so that students will have a good base from which to work when they undertake further study.
6. Instrumentation & Control - This module introduces electrical and mechanical engineering students to basic instrumentation and sensor technology, and linear feedback control systems.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through a combination of assignments, in course assessments and end of module examinations. The majority of students' project module is industry based and has been acknowledged as exceptional by both academics and industry.
