Excludes General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Mathematics
Access to HE Diploma
We consider applications from students with the Access to Higher Education Diploma. The minimum academic requirement is to achieve 60 credits overall, with 45 credits at Level 3, of which 30 credits must be at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit or higher. Applications are considered on a case by case basis. Due to the high volume of applications, we do not make offers of study purely on the basis of meeting grade requirements.
We consider applications from students offering an EPQ and may make an alternative offer to include three A levels, one grade lower than our usual requirement, along with a specific grade in the EPQ.
GCSE/National 4/National 5
A minimum of five GCSE passes including English and Maths at grade C/4 or an acceptable equivalent.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
To include 666 in HL subjects and at least 4 in SL Maths
Queen Mary University of London welcomes applications from students currently studying Level 3 BTEC qualifications and will consider you for entry to the majority of our undergraduate courses. The typical entry requirements will vary according to the course you are applying for. Some of our courses require specific subject knowledge which you may not be able to cover as part of a Level 3 BTEC qualification and we may therefore require additional Level 3 qualifications to ensure that you are suitably prepared for relevant courses. A small number of our courses do not accept BTEC qualifications for entry, either as a standalone qualification, or in combination with other qualifications at Level 3. About this course
Marketing is the vital bridge between an organisation’s products or services and their intended audience.
Marketing can make or break a business. Skilled marketing professionals are highly valued in every industry, and have access to a wide range of career pathways.
Our Marketing and Management BSc combines business management with contemporary marketing theory and practice.
You will learn the essential principles of marketing and management in your first year. In your second and third years, you will progress to more intensive studies of specialised areas such as advertising, consumer psychology, services marketing, brand management, market analytics and digital marketing.
If you select the 'Year in Industry' route, you will have the opportunity to spend the third year of your degree on an industry placement with an employer.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has awarded a Graduate Gateway against this programme. The modules you study as part of the degree give exemptions towards the CIM Certificate and CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing. To complete the CIM qualifications, you must then take one or two CIM modules (for the certificate and diploma respectively), after graduation.

A lot of the jobs are in London, but graduates don't just go to work in advertising agencies — all sorts of industries do their own marketing these days, and with the rise of digital and mobile technology, a lot of marketing is done in quite innovative ways using a wide range of methods. Common industries (apart from advertising and PR) include recruitment, online retail, higher education, banking and IT. A lot of jobs in this industry are handled through recruitment agencies, so if you get in touch with them early, that might give you a headstart for some of the jobs available.
