Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above, from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate

**Course summary**

- Develop critical insight into the theory and practice of international tourism management.

- Become proficient in the Spanish language.

- Gain an excellent understanding of Spanish culture, society and economic context.

- Spend a semester at a Spanish university and an eleven month work placement in a Spanish-speaking country. Erasmus funding may be available to support costs for overseas study.

Develop critical insight into a range of topics related to the theory and practice of international tourism management. Expand your Spanish language skills to become a bilingual professional. Through 18 months of work and study placements, you gain transferable intercultural competencies and the global skillset employers are looking for.

**How you learn**

This course employs a variety of innovative learning and teaching methods within the vibrant, dynamic setting of Sheffield Business School, an internationally-recognised centre of teaching excellence which attracts students and academics from all over the world.

**Work placements**

As part of your course you will spend 11 months on a work placement in a relevant organisation based in Spain. Your placement is a great opportunity to gain valuable international tourism experience. It helps you develop your skills and Spanish language ability and significantly enhances your employability.

You will the opportunity to apply for placements with international companies such as the main Spanish hotel chains Meli? Hotels International, Hotelbeds and Hoteles NH (HQ Madrid). We also have contacts with boutique hotel chains, tour operators and other relevant firms from the tourism sector.

**Live projects**

Some modules will enable you to participate in stimulating projects in collaboration with companies or experienced professionals from a variety of sectors. This will be another exciting way to gain professional skills and enhance your employability prospects.

This course sits in a wide group of smaller subjects that don't necessarily have that much in common - so bear this in mind when you look at any employment data.
