Normally we require 15 credits at level 2 and 45 at level 3. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.

- Prepare for the degree with an extra foundation year at the start.

- Develop critical insight into the theory and practice of tourism management.

- Learn two languages and prepare yourself for work in the global economy

- Study and work abroad and gain hands-on experience of the international tourism industry.

- Gain understanding of the language, culture and economic context of your two target countries.

Expand your language skills, whilst gaining critical insight into a range of topics related to the theory and practice of tourism management, necessary to become a multilingual professional. Study and work abroad for 18 months, developing transferable skills on an international level and giving you a competitive advantage upon graduation.

**How You Learn**

The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BA (Hons) Languages with Tourism (French) course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree.

This course employs a variety of innovative learning and teaching methods within the vibrant, dynamic setting of Sheffield Business School, an internationally-recognised centre of teaching excellence which attracts g students and academics from all over the world.

You learn through

- In the foundation year, you'll study wider business topics, while specialising in your chosen subject area. You'll learn useful skills such as academic writing, work in diverse teams and learn to utilise a wide variety of data sources. In doing so, you'll fully prepare yourself for undergraduate study.

This course sits in a wide group of smaller subjects that don't necessarily have that much in common - so bear this in mind when you look at any employment data. Most graduates took a hospitality, events management or tourism-related course, but there are a group of sports and leisure graduates in here as well who do different things. This is a broad subject for a variety of European languages. No matter which you take, the general theme is that some graduates go to that country to work, often as English language teachers, some go into further study, often to train as teachers or translators, but most get jobs in the UK in education - most often as language tutors, unsurprisingly, or translators. Modern language grads can also be in demand in business roles where communication and language skills are particularly useful, such as marketing and PR, and in finance or law.
