We will generally make you an offer if your predicted grades are at the top of this range and you meet any subject specific requirements (where applicable). Film and Digital Production will provide you with knowledge and understanding of the history of moving image and the traditional background of film theory.

Through work experience and professional practice, you will develop skills relevant to film production and screenwriting, as well as related screen media and promotional industries.

During the course, you will undertake a comprehensive programme of professional development throughout, with one dedicated module in each year of the degree.

This degree will help you to understand professional practices relevant to cultural industries and how such organisations operate. It will also equip you with an enhanced awareness of issues relating to potential audiences and markets.

Digital Cultures, Digital Production, Film, Style and Form, Media History, Personal Branding and Screen Theory and Criticism

Assessment methods

Essays and reports will be present in many modules. There is an emphasis on coursework and practical work, including pieces that can form part of a creative portfolio.

In the professional development modules at each level, you will be asked to carry out tasks such as:

preparing plans and costings for a project
developing an effective CV and social media presence
pitching ideas to a client
In your final year, you will dedicate your research project to the production of a major film project.
