Optional year in industry: The year in industry option will help you gain valuable work experience which will help you enhance your graduate employability prospects. During your placement you develop transferable skills such as communication, negotiation, teamwork, leadership, organisation, problem-solving, being able to work under pressure, self-reliance and commercial awareness. At the end of your work placement you return to complete your degree and prepare to enter employment with improved confidence.

The modern world needs competent engineers who can design and operate industrial processes in a green and sustainable way. As a skilled professional, you develop processes to reduce hazardous and life-threatening emissions to the environment, improve energy efficiency and optimise the use of renewable resources and raw materials. You develop sustainable solutions that protect the environment, assuring sound use of resources in line with the UN’s sustainable development goals, focusing on energy, water and climate action.
