This three year degree offers a fascinating insight for those with an interest in sociology, crime and criminal justice; and are wishing to pursue a career in the public service sector. You will study the principles of sociological, criminological and the legal concepts, approaches and methodologies, gaining a critical understanding of crime, criminal justice, and their relationship with the law.
This degree will help you to develop a critical understanding of social science research methodologies and ethics; applying them to the social environment. This is a new and exciting, multifaceted programme that will give you a fascinating insight into the world of criminology, criminal justice, sociology and government policy within the context of the public sector.
This degree is aimed at those wishing to pursue careers in a wide range of roles in the public sector and public services. During your studies you will identify the motivations for crime, sociological impacts and causes of crime, societal controls as well as aspects of the legal system and, how policy is implemented to tackle issues within society. Embedded within this course are professional developmental skills that will give you the opportunity to reflect and develop the key employability knowledge, behaviours and skills that are required to have a successful career.
