Open Day

Are you thinking of applying to this university?

Before you do, it's a good idea to go to an open day. You can have a good look around campus, getting a better idea of what it's like to study there. You'll meet current students and staff and get the chance to ask them questions.

Universities will list upcoming open days on their websites. Most will also have virtual open days; these are a great alternative if you really can't get there in person. For tips on preparing for open days, check the advice section here on The Uni Guide.

I love the layout of our course. It has just enough freedom (ie I can choose my essay title each week, and will later be able to choose which texts I revisit and revise and which I never want to see again) while being structured and guided under four papers, each of a different time period. The supp...

The Natural Sciences course is renowned for being very intense in terms of contact hours with 2 lectures for 6 days a week (yes, on Saturdays too) in general, with potential for variation depending on subjects chosen.rnLectures are delivered in an engaging way by professors and academics. The quality of teaching is, in most cases, exceptional, and the supervision system not only connects you to world-class academics, but also fills in many gaps in your learning. There are a few minor issues, but they really pale in comparison to the privilege of being able to study here. I honestly t...

Contact hours are superb with access to my director of studies and supervisors at any time. Three hours of supervisions in small groups allow time to ask questions and target specific problems. The course itself is diverse and covers core topics as well as politics and history in the first year. ...

The course is really good. The lectures are engaging most of the time and teaching is great.

The supervisions and seminars have been wonderfully engaging, however, the seminars are limited to just 2 4hour sessions. Given the amount of material and engagement from the cohort it would really benefit from another seminar in the course of the year.
