This multidisciplinary programme integrates theoretical and practical knowledge of physical education and sport. It offers the opportunity to develop the skills and understanding required to work in the education and sport sector. Our programme has been developed in response to this and to the need for young people to have access to high-quality physical education and sport provision. The degree has been designed for those who have a desire to work with young people in schools or youth sport settings. Students have the opportunity to develop their teaching abilities, knowledge and experience of curriculum activities. Engagement in real-world experience is integral to this programme and students have opportunities to conduct research in schools and sport environments within the local community. A key aim of the degree is to prepare students for life beyond graduation and to provide a sound basis for undertaking a postgraduate teaching qualification or wider employment within schools and youth sport settings.

The modules you will study

The degree offers the opportunity to develop an extensive knowledge and understanding of the key components of physical education and sport. Compulsory modules at level one are designed to provide students with a foundation and underpinning knowledge in teaching and pedagogy, school and youth sport development, social science, sport science and research. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to develop key transferable skills in preparation for sport-related graduate employment or postgraduate study. Optional modules are available in years two and three, providing the opportunity to tailor the degree in line with students’ personal interests or employment aspirations. VERY GOOD! Lots of choice for societies and they offer help with housing, contracts, course issues. They have several bars and a nightclub on campus and run u2018quacku2019 on a Wednesday which is always packed! They run so many events and they do exam support weeks with free food and things like do...

The accomodation is an average price for Universityu2019s. The main supermarket is Morrisons so quite expensive but thereu2019s tons of little tescos and Iceland farm foods and Lidl around the city within walking distance. Access is amazing we get emails and a point of contact with our tutors if we need any resources. Anything from health and well-being to employability they help with. They helped me find a placement this year and they send emails with information for everything we need!
