Our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers students a flexible and exciting way to study through its innovative Honours Select degree programme. Honours Select gives you the opportunity to design a degree that’s tailored to suit your specific interests, academic strengths and career aspirations. You can choose to study one or two subjects from a wide selection of more than 30, and decide for yourself how much weight each subject has. This Joint (50:50) programme combines Mathematics with Languages in equal measures.
This programme is accredited to meet the educational requirements of the Chartered Mathematician designation awarded by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
Most Honours Select combinations allow you to adapt the weighting of each by 25% after the first year, helping you to keep your options open. Please note, however, students studying either a Business or Economics pathway in combination with another subject cannot increase from 25% to 50% or from 50% to 75% and it is not possible to transfer from a 50% to 75% Law. Great with many things offered at our student guild like gigs and football, along with society events on every week at campus

I am from a low income family so the uni provides me with a bursary which I am grateful for

First and second year I felt was inadequate when it comes to this. However third year things appear clearer and I see support everywhere from my course, lecturers, library and guild. The support provided can flourish when no other factors are in the way such as Covid and strikes

Amazing so many opportunities but I am only really aware of them now in my final year. I wish things were ran better during my first and second year as I felt I missed out. The library is very helpful and we have a student guild which provides food drink and social space
