About this course
This Higher National Certificate helps you gain key skills needed to start a career within the field of Construction Management, and on completion, consider progression to a Higher National Diploma here at Roehampton. This University course is approved by the Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education.
You will learn about the major impact that new digital technologies have on the construction environment, gain an insight into international business operations, and the opportunities and challenges presented by a global marketplace.
You will explore the make-up and the impact of the construction industry on the environment and society, as well as the different areas of law that are relevant to the construction industry throughout the development process.
You will learn through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios.
Many of the units within this qualification include curriculum related to health and safety, building regulations and statutory requirements. Plus, you’ll be taught by a friendly, committed and qualified team of lecturers who have both professional and teaching experience.
Skills
You will discover the techniques used to set up controls and conduct initial surveys, including communication of results and methods of setting out the built environment.
Placements - throughout the course, you will be supported to undertake relevant paid or voluntary work in order to build your skills and experience.
Career opportunities
The skills and knowledge you gain from this course will put you in a strong position for pursuing jobs in construction management and the built environment.
You may choose to progress to the Construction Management HND.
