This course is offered as a degree with foundation year - a four-year programme which provides an additional foundation year at the beginning of the degree, that will give you academic and practical experience, as well as the skills you need to ensure you are equipped to successfully complete your chosen degree.

During the foundation year:
Take modules in Maths which will develop your core academic and study skills.
The syllabus includes a year-long module relevant to your chosen degree subject, such as Digital Literacy and Computational Thinking. This will provide you with a subject specific knowledge in Computer Science which is essential for success in your degree.

As technology develops, so must those who protect digital spaces and information. Cyber attacks have become a common feature in our news cycle and pose a threat to societies and economies across the globe.

Our BSc Cyber Security is designed to mould you into a forward-thinking, adaptable and proficient cyber security professional who can tackle one of the biggest technological issues the world faces today.

The programme is the best of both worlds: you will gain a strong understanding of computing and web development, while specialising in a sought-after skill that will be an imperative for organisations spanning across many different industries.

Cyber security is a global concern, impacting every society that relies on being digitally connected. The stakes are high. Software, hardware, systems, data, information, and people are vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Cyber-crime incidents span local, regional, and international boundaries, requiring skilled legal and digital forensics investigations. Cyber security requires passionate and dedicated individuals who can rise to its diverse and complex challenges.

Our BSc Cyber Security course cultivates creative and professional cyber security graduates who can solve problems, are knowledgeable, skilled, and ready for industry upon graduation. You will experience technical and non-technical cyber security disciplines, helping you identify your strengths and make informed decisions about future career pathways.

**Career opportunities**

We have embedded employability throughout the curriculum of BSc Cyber Security. You will engage with project-based learning activities and assessments that reflect real-world scenarios. Our collaborative approach, team working modules, and Final Year Project demonstrate our project-based approach to learning.
