This four year MEng Computer Science degree builds on the three year BSc and will provide you with the core professional skills, knowledge and understanding that underpin computer science, enabling you to work in any area of the computing industry. Key areas of study include: programming languages, development environments, modelling tools, methodologies in capturing requirements, structuring applications and data achieving thorough program testing.

This four-year programme will enable you to pursue a career in any area of the computing industry. It has been designed to maximise student choice by allowing you to tailor the degree structure to suit your own interests.
During the first two years you will undertake a series of core modules, for example Programming, Computer Systems, and Mathematics. In your third year you can choose from a wide range of optional modules that reflect the specialist areas and key technologies of computer science that will be critical in the future. You will also work on an individual project with the potential to explore cutting edge technologies and innovative applications.
The fourth year particularly emphasises engineering design, management and industrial collaboration. You will take part in a group design project, working with a real industry customer or solving challenging problems through the imaginative application of technology. This programme is also available with a year in industry.

A range of assessment methods are used on this programme to enable students to demonstrate their achievement of the intended learning outcomes.
