Here's what University of Sunderland says about its Biopharmaceutical Science with Integrated Foundation Year course.

This is a four-year version of BSc (Hons) Biopharmaceutical Science with an Integrated Foundation Year. Immerse yourself in the challenging field of drug discovery and development. Study the development of new drugs, the discovery of diagnostic markers of disease and the assurance of safety, quality and efficacy of manufactured drugs.

Biopharmaceutical science is the study of how biological molecules can be designed, manufactured and used as medicines. The course puts you at the forefront of recent trends in pharmaceutical research, in which increasing numbers of drugs are coming from large biopharmaceutical molecules.

On graduation, you can look forward to a wide range of career opportunities in a large and growing industry. Over a quarter of all industrial research in the UK is performed by pharmaceutical companies.

Depending on availability of places and subject to interview, you may be able to apply to transfer to our MPharm Pharmacy course following successful completion of the foundation year of the Biopharmaceutical Sciences Integrated Foundation Degree. You must aim to achieve 70% in the foundation year, and any offer will be subject to the discretion of the Pharmacy admissions tutor.

I do like Sunderland for the most part, the people are mostly nice, it's diverse and there's a wide range of shops, but I do feel like there's not nearly enough stuff here compared to other cities. The campuses are very nice, especially the media centre.

You can apply for various bursaries and I was granted the low-income bursary. This was paid through StudyPlus but you coul...

This is all due to severe mental health issues that the university have been aware of since the start but have done absolutely n...

I don't live in a university accommodation and was never shown the library so have not used this, but I will say that I've had a lot of experience with the well-being team and they're very hit or miss. The first two years, I received no help and they even admitted that they weren't helping me enough...
