They work on projects that can range from buildings and infrastructure to residential developments, commercial projects to roads, airports and bridges. Projects can range from small schemes to multi-million pound projects. The range is diverse. Quantity Surveyors are mainly responsible for the cost and legal management of construction and infrastructure projects. The course at Wolverhampton is a vocational degree providing a broad education together with specialist studies required to pursue a professional career as a CIOB Chartered Quantity Surveyor in all areas of the construction supply chain from main contractors to sub-contracting organisations and suppliers and works contractors.
