Here's what University of York says about its Sociology course.
Examine how our social environment alters our actions. Explore the values, ideas and beliefs that shape our lives.
Why choose Sociology at York? Discover how our society is shaped and how it influences us. Examine how social, economic and cultural forces shape individuals. You'll explore how technologies, gender, institutions, culture and interactions with others influence our identities, choices and actions.
Benefit from teaching that's research-led and covers real-world issues. The latest sociological thinking will challenge your perspective of some of our society's most hotly debated topics. This includes sexuality, health, criminology, social media, science and communication. In the process, you'll learn to think critically, evaluate evidence and craft convincing arguments.
Immerse yourself in your passions. Our wide range of option modules allow you to tailor your degree to suit your interests. You'll also develop a highly flexible skill set and gain knowledge that's relevant across industries.
Prepare for your future. During your studies, you'll have access to careers support, events and networking opportunities. You'll also have the option of adding a placement year or year abroad to your degree. This allows you to gain invaluable experience working or studying in another country before you graduate.

Fun night life but not many shops to go around

Very expensive and the aldi is very far from the east campus. There is a Nisa which is way too expensive for students living by. My accommodation cost is expensive especially living with 12 people.

Very good there is the wellbeing team who can help people during their hard times. Plus there is people who can support thise who may have not found a house or not found any flatmates

I like the accommodations however I dont like the people I am living with. If only they did the application where you match up people by hobbies and interests like Warick University does.

I like the timetable set for them, the module may need to think about not making them all presentations. The teacher is good.
