The University welcomes undergraduate applications from students studying the Access to Higher Education Diploma, provided that relevant subject content and learning outcomes are met. We are not able to accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas as a general qualification for every undergraduate degree course.

Aberystwyth University welcomes the Welsh Baccalaureate as a valuable qualification in its own right and considers completion of the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate to be equivalent to an A level grade.
About this course
Wrth ddewis astudio Cymraeg ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth, byddi'n ymuno â chymuned Gymraeg fyrlymus, o fewn y brifysgol a'r tu allan. Mae Adran y Gymraeg ac Astudiaethau Celtaidd yn gartref i gymuned fywiog o fyfyrwyr ac ymchwilwyr, o Gymru a’r tu hwnt, o fewn tref ac ardal ddwyieithog sy'n llawn hanes, a lle mae'r Gymraeg yn rhan annatod o'r gwead cymdeithasol.
Byddi'n dysgu am lenyddiaeth, diwylliant, gwleidyddiaeth, hanes a chymdeithaseg Cymru. Bydd hyn oll yn ehangu dy orwelion a bydd dy wybodaeth am Gymru'n werthfawr wrth iti ymgeisio am swyddi yng Nghymru heddiw.
Mae’r cynllun gradd hwn yn addas i fyfyrwyr Cymraeg ail iaith, ac i siaradwyr iaith gyntaf. Beth bynnag yw dy sefyllfa di, tyrd i ymuno â ni ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth. Bydd gradd yn y Gymraeg yn profi dy fod yn gallu mynegi dy hun yn Gymraeg yn effeithiol a phwrpasol, yn ysgrifenedig ac ar lafar.
- Cymuned Gymraeg fyrlymus yng nghalon Cymru - Byddi'n ymuno ag un o gadarnleoedd yr iaith Gymraeg.
- Enw da – Mae safon ymchwil ac addysgu’r adran hon yn Aberystwyth gyda’r uchaf posib.
- Arwain - Mae'r Adran yn arwain y sector mewn meysydd fel ysgrifennu creadigol, y Gymraeg yn y gweithle proffesiynol ac astudiaethau cyfieithu, ac mae pawb yn yr Adran yn rhannu’r nod o hybu dealltwriaeth ehangach o’r iaith Gymraeg, ei hanes, ei llenyddiaeth, a’i lle yn y byd modern.

- Bywyd Cymdeithasol Cymraeg Byrlymus - Cei ymaelodi ag Undeb Myfyrwyr Cymraeg Aberystwyth (UMCA), byw yn neuadd Pantycelyn, a chymryd rhan mewn llu o weithgareddau hwyliog a drefnir gan yr undeb.
- Boddhad Myfyrwyr - Yn yr arolwg cenedlaethol diweddar o fodlonrwydd myfyrwyr, roedd 100% o foddhad cyffredinol ym maes Astudiaethau Cymraeg (NSS 2020).
Rydym yn cynnig amrywiaeth hynod ddiddorol o fodiwlau unigol sy’n adlewyrchu diddordebau ymchwil diweddaraf ein darlithwyr: hanes ein llên a llenyddiaeth gyfoes, theori lenyddol, llenyddiaeth plant, llên gwerin, astudiaethau menywod ac astudiaethau rhywedd, ysgrifennu creadigol a sgriptio, cyweiriau a thafodieithoedd y Gymraeg, yr iaith mewn cyd-destunau proffesiynol, cyfieithu ac addasu, y Gymraeg a'r cyfryngau, cymdeithaseg yr iaith Gymraeg.
**Beth fydda i’n ei ddysgu?**
Dyma grynodeb:
Iaith Gyntaf - Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf cei gyfle i weld pa agwedd ar y Gymraeg sydd o ddiddordeb mwyaf i ti. Byddi'n dysgu am amrywiaeth o gyfnodau llenyddol ac agweddau eraill ar y pwnc er mwyn gallu dewis dy gyfuniad unigryw di o fodiwlau yn yr ail a'r drydedd flwyddyn.
Ail Iaith - Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf byddi'n cael dy ddysgu ar wahân i'r myfyrwyr iaith gyntaf. Bydd hyn yn rhoi cyfle iti fagu hyder a gwella dy sgiliau iaith gyda chefnogaeth staff a dy gyd-fyfyrwyr. Yn yr ail flwyddyn byddi'n dilyn modiwlau iaith eraill er mwyn datblygu dy hyder ymhellach a byddi hefyd yn gallu dewis o blith yr amrywiaeth eang o fodiwlau sydd ar gael gan yr Adran.
**Sut bydda i’n cael fy addysgu?**
Yn Adran y Gymraeg byddi'n dysgu trwy gyfuniad o ddarlithoedd traddodiadol, seminarau a dulliau dysgu arloesol eraill. Mae awyrgylch fwy anffurfiol yn y seminarau, er mwyn meithrin trafodaeth fwy agored.

Bydd dy waith yn cael ei asesu drwy arholiadau, drwy asesu cyson, a thrwy osod a marcio traethodau ac ymarferion.
