It’s not a student area. Next to a prison. Cheap. Convenient for travel. First house and one the few left with the amount of rooms we needed.

Course
I have 3 modules a term. Statistics and Research Methods modules are 100% coursework which I like as it gives me one module without an exam that’s fully reliant on my effort throughout the course. I feel less pressure doing coursework and tend to do better. My other modules are nicely weighted with coursework (30%) and exam (70%). The exams are challenging but it’s set out so students could chose to learn everything quite well, or they could fully learn a few modules and answer those questions. Each lecturer/ tutor has 4 drop in hours ever week if you need to contact them for anything. And after each term you have a tutor meeting to discuss feedback from exams to know how to improve in the future.

Accommodation
I live in between Mount Pleasant and Uplands. Would not recommend living in Mount Pleasant, it’s quite rough and far out from uni. However it is close to town so easy to walk to and from nights out. Plus side is rent is cheaper in this area and it’s still close to the student areas and facilities. We chose to live here because there aren’t many 8 bedroom houses around and this was the nicest one we found, rent was reasonable and being close to town was attractive to us. There’s plenty of shops and takeaways within a 5 minute walk so it is a really good location, just not as studenty as Uplands and Brynmill. Mainly locals and Swansea Met students.

Accommodation
I currently live with 8 people (4 boys, 4 girls). Without the ease of bills being sorted and cleaners in Halls, we’ve found that the boys we live with are very untidy and lack initiative and motivation. Therefore for 3rd year, us girls wanted to live together as we’re all extremely organised and want to be able to focus on our studies fully next year without having to help others. Therefore we started searching for 4 bed houses. 4 of my course best friends live in a house together and it’s really nice and their landlord is lovely. So they recommended her to me and we viewed 3 of her properties (Student Houses 4 U). All were lovely and we decided on one later that day. We’ve signed our contract and paid our deposits. We have a deposit certificate for proof.
