The University welcomes undergraduate applications from students studying the Access to Higher Education Diploma, provided that relevant subject content and learning outcomes are met. We are not able to accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas as a general qualification for every undergraduate degree course.

Aberystwyth University welcomes the Welsh Baccalaureate as a valuable qualification in its own right and considers completion of the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate to be equivalent to an A level grade.

Bu sefydlu Senedd Cymru ac ychwanegu mwy o bwerau yn ddiweddarach ynghyd a Deddf yr Iaith Gymraeg yn sbardun i'r angen am raddedigion o safon uchel - unigolion sydd sy'n gymwys i ymuno â gweithlu proffesiynol, ac i weithio'n hyderus trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg a'r Saesneg. Oherwydd hynny, mae'n amser hynod gyffrous i astudio Cymraeg yn y brifysgol. Wrth ddewis astudio'r cwrs BA Cymraeg Proffesiynol, byddi'n ymuno â chwrs Cymraeg arloesol sydd yn canolbwyntio ar sgiliau ymarferol a galwedigaethol sy'n addas ar gyfer y gweithle proffesiynol yn y Gymru gyfoes a'r tu hwnt. Heddiw, mae cyflogwyr, yn ogystal â darpar fyfyrwyr a rhieni, yn chwilio am radd ‘safon aur’ yn y Gymraeg. Dyma’r radd honno.
**Pam astudio Cymraeg Proffesiynol yn Aber?**
- Cartref Cymraeg Proffesiynol - Cyflwynwyd y cwrs yma yn gyntaf yn 2012 ac mae wedi mynd o nerth i nerth ers hynny.
- Safonau Uchel - Fel adran rydym yn cynnal safonau sy’n gyson uchel ac yn cyflwyno cyrsiau deniadol, diddorol a pherthnasol i’n ffordd o weld Cymru a’r byd drwy’r Gymraeg.
- Arbenigwyr - Byddi'n cael dy ddysgu gan ddarlithwyr sy'n arbenigwyr yn eu meysydd.
- Darlithydd Cymraeg Proffesiynol Dynodedig - Mae'r cwrs yn cael ei gyd-lynu gan Dr Rhianedd Jewell, darlithydd dynodedig y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol mewn Cymraeg Proffesiynol, sydd yn rhoi ei sylw yn arbennig i'r cwrs hwn.
- Amrywiaeth - Cei ddewis o blith amrywiaeth eang o bynciau diddorol, o gyfieithu, golygu a chyhoeddi i ysgrifennu creadigol a hybu treftadaeth.
- Canlyniadau Gwych - Mae canlyniadau ein graddedigion mewn Cymraeg Proffesiynol o safon uchel iawn.
- Grwpiau Bach - Cwrs dethol yw hwn, ac felly mae'r dysgu'n digwydd mewn grwpiau bach. Mae'r sesiynau hyn yn adlewyrchu cyfarfodydd tîm y byd gwaith.
- Bywyd Cymdeithasol Cymraeg Byrlymus - Yn Aberystwyth cei fyw trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg a mwynhau'r elfen gymdeithasol sydd i'r gymuned Gymraeg yma: gweithgareddau UMCA (Undeb Myfyrwyr Cymraeg Aberystwyth), neuadd Pantycelyn, teithiau rygbi, côr Pantycelyn, a mwy.
- Boddhad Myfyrwyr - Yn yr arolwg cenedlaethol diweddar o fodlonrwydd myfyrwyr, roedd 100% o foddhad cyffredinol ym maes Astudiaethau Cymraeg ac roedd 94% o foddhad cyffredinol yn yr Adran (NSS 2020).
- Y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol - Yn ogystal â'r adnoddau helaeth sydd gan y Brifysgol, mae'r Adran ar stepen drws y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol - llyfrgell hawlfraint sydd â thros 6 miliwn o lyfrau, mapiau a phrintiadau ac fe gei ymaelodi'n rhad ac am ddim!
Dyma grynodeb o'r hyn y mae'n bosibl y byddi'n ei astudio yn ystod y cynllun gradd tair blynedd.
**Blwyddyn 1**
Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf byddi'n astudio'r modiwl Cyflwyniad i Gymraeg Proffesiynol. Fel y mae'r enw yn ei awgrymu, mae'r modiwl hwn yn rhoi cyflwyniad i'r maes. Byddi'n dysgu rhychwant o sgiliau megis cyfieithu ar y pryd, sgiliau gweinyddol, siarad cyhoeddus, golygu a marchnata. Bydd cyfle iti weithio fel tîm ac i ddatblygu dy sgiliau marchnata wrth drefnu'r Noson Llên a Chân. Byddi'n cael gweithredu ar fwrdd golygyddol Y Ddraig, cylchgrawn llenyddol yr Adran. Ti a'r myfyrwyr eraill fydd yn comisiynu ac yn golygu'r gwaith.
**Blwyddyn 2 a 3**
Yn yr ail a'r drydedd flwyddyn byddi'n dilyn pedwar modiwl Cymraeg Proffesiynol:
Y Gymraeg yn y Gweithle - Modiwl profiad gwaith yw hwn; Trosi ac Addasu - Modiwl cyfieithu; Bro a Bywyd - trafod twristiaeth a threftadaeth lenyddol; Prosiect Hir - cyfle i weithio ar brosiect ymchwil gwreiddiol ym maes Cymraeg Proffesiynol. Cei ddewis o blith amrywiaeth eang o fodiwlau eraill yr Adran yn ogystal.
**Sut y bydda i'n cael fy addysgu?**
Drwy gyfuniad o ddarlithoedd traddodiadol, seminarau a dulliau dysgu arloesol eraill. Mae’r grwpiau yn llai a’r awyrgylch yn fwy anffurfiol yn y seminarau, er mwyn meithrin trafodaeth fwy agored.
**Sut y bydda i'n cael fy asesu?**
Mae gwaith y myfyrwyr yn cael ei asesu drwy arholiadau, drwy asesu cyson, a thrwy osod a marcio traethodau ac ymarferion.
