a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Computing, Business or Creative Digital Media Production with a minimum of a Merit overall - 48 UCAS Tariff points a GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent) and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as maths and English. other related Level 3 qualifications an Access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved further education institution relevant work experience Applications from students returning to education who do not possess the formal entry qualifications, but can demonstrate relevant industry experience, will be considered on merit but would normally be expected to have achieved a Level 2 Maths and English qualification. Applicants whose first language is not English must also demonstrate that their level of English is acceptable by achieving a score in a recognised test such as: • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 • PTE Academic 51, or • IELTS 5.5 (reading and writing must be at 5.5)

We are currently going through a big technological change and digital growth in the Cyber Security and Networking sector. The College are excited to offer the Higher National Certificate in Digital Technologies (Cyber Security and Cloud Networking) course accredited by Pearson. The course will provide you with a flexible, unit-based structure that focuses on developing the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills you will need to succeed in employment and higher education. It will equip you with the knowledge, confidence and core skills required for a range of careers in digital technologies, including cyber security, software development, data analytics, networking, and change management.

The course is designed for students to progress and enhance their skills and techniques previously studied at level 3, to prepare students for further study at Level 5 or in readiness for employment in the Cyber Security and Networking industry.

Modules

The programme is designed to be studied full-time over one academic year of 32 weeks. This is equivalent to two days a week.
There are two core units and you will then choose six optional units. Each unit has a value of 15 credits and completion of all eight will give you the required 120 credits to complete the award.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed through a mixture of written assignments, group assessment, peer assessment, portfolio assessment and practice-related coursework. You will also be supported with a wide range of learning resources made available via HN Online content, including access to textbooks and articles.
