?The BA (Hons) English Literature (Digital Practice) not only provides a grounding in English literature across the centuries - from Chaucer, to Shakespeare, to Woolf, to Atwood - but also provides innovative teaching and widely-recognised qualifications in key strands of digital humanities. A mixture of thematic and chronological modules ensures a good grounding in genre, context and period and invites you to explore non-canonical genres such as science fiction, dystopian fiction, and young adult fiction.

Alongside exciting and challenging English Literature modules, you will learn digital skills that are not only necessary to understand how we study literature in the twenty-first century, but also provide invaluable skills that employers require from graduates. This distinctive degree will help you establish yourself as outstanding and unique in a competitive market, all the while offering an enjoyable and varied exploration of English literature.

Modules are taught by a research active team (including Dr Carmen Casaliggi, Dr Elizabeth English, and Dr Nick Taylor-Collins) who have research interests in Romanticism, Modernist and Contemporary Literature, with specialisms in Irish literature, women's writing, and the work of John Ruskin.

The course aims to:
•provide a grounding in canonical English literature from the fourteenth to the twenty-first centuries
•offer students specialist teaching in Romanticism, and modern and contemporary writing
•give students the opportunity to develop digital skills, such as in coding, digital publishing, and corpus linguistics
•allow students to develop a broad and deep knowledge of literature, as well as to develop a skillset desired by employers
•encourage students to develop their ethical, digital, global and entrepreneurial skills (i.e. demonstrate the Cardiff Met EDGE).
