The Cert Ed incorporates the LSIS mandatory modules for teaching qualifications, New Overarching Professional Standards for Teachers and additional modules to support trainee’s subject specialism.

The Cert Ed requires 100 hours of mandatory teaching practice during the period of training 8 of which will be observed. Nescot will help to provide teaching practice placement for full time applicants in the following areas Plumbing, Electricals, painting and decorating, Carpentry, Special Education Needs, hair dressing, performing arts, Health and social care and Early Years. Placement places are limited and are distributed on first come first serve basis.
