Quantity surveying

Developed in consultation with industry our new Quantity Surveying course develops knowledge and skills valued by employers, with a particular emphasis on cost and management.

You will graduate with an extensive understanding of the latest technologies to ensure compliance with building regulations and sustainable construction, the ability to quantify and measure new and existing structures, and use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to produce estimates for new structures.

You will learn with staff who are actively engaged in research or consultancy. Field trips, site visits, group and individual work, visiting lecturers, and practical workshops using our specialist facilities are key elements of your learning. Field trips include a European field trip or Construction Live activity week enabling you to put theory into practice in the field.

Our focus on interdisciplinary working means you will study and work alongside students from related courses, mirroring the real-world working environment. And you benefit from our links to local industry, including lectures from industry professionals and the option of a salaried placement year.
