**About this course**
You’ll learn all about how to use marketing to respond to the needs of the digital economy and the constantly changing expectations of social media-savvy consumers.
Our academic staff have extensive experience of business and will support you to connect your learning to the realities of marketing. Your Academic Guidance Tutor will also be there to guide your learning and career development, and you’ll have access to our extensive employability events.
You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of a range of marketing strategies and tactics used by organisations to achieve their business goals. You will learn about the theories behind key marketing decisions, such as the pricing of goods and services and will develop the skills to turn your creative ideas into a reality, with opportunities to develop briefs and work to timelines and restrictive budgets.
Covering the fundamentals of branding, you’ll also learn about marketing communications strategies, ethical issues in global marketing, and the evolving nature of digital marketing.
**Skills**
You’ll learn all about how to use marketing to respond to the needs of the digital economy and the constantly changing expectations of social media-savvy consumers.
Over the course of your degree, you will develop the skills needed to run your own marketing communication campaigns, create unique brand identities and foster competitive advantage, while also considering the ethical and sustainability issues that come into play in devising effective marketing campaigns.
In preparation for your future career, you’ll develop many skills employers value, including the ability to identify and solve business problems, and communicate your ideas with impact.
When you graduate you will have a deeper understanding of the key areas of sales, advertising and PR in a global context, and learn how to tailor the delivery of your messages to your chosen target market.
**Career opportunities**
You will be well equipped to work in a marketing role, either in a communications agency or an in-house marketing department.

**Teaching designed around you**
At Roehampton, we want to provide you with the flexibility you need while you study, and the contact time to help you succeed. We schedule our teaching across no more than three days each week. Plus, we'll confirm which days these are well in advance of the start of term, so you can plan ahead. So, if you want to have more focused personal study time, a part-time job, need to balance family commitments, or want to reduce the time you spend commuting, we’re the ideal choice for you.

Extra funding
We offer a wide range of scholarships for UK undergraduates, including: - The Roehampton Bursary is worth £1,000 for the first year of our undergraduate degree programmes*. It will be awarded automatically to students in receipt of a full maintenance loan, to help with costs such as travel and accommodation. - Academic Excellence Scholarships worth: £3,000 over the course of a degree for students with the equivalent of AAA or above (144+ tariff) at A-level (or equivalent tariff in other qualifications, e.g. BTEC) and £2,000 over the course of a degree for students with the equivalent of AAB at A-level (136-143 tariff) (or equivalent tariff in other qualifications, e.g. BTEC) - esports scholarships, worth £2,000 per year of the degree, available to students who demonstrate aptitude in esports. - Music and Sports Scholarships, available to students who demonstrate excellence in music or sports - Care leaver bursaries, worth £2,000 per year of study to Care Leavers enrolling on Undergraduate programmes at Roehampton, for up to four years of study. Want to join a fast-moving, diverse industry that's at the cutting edge of tech? Try marketing! A lot of the jobs are in London, but graduates don't just go to work in advertising agencies — all sorts of industries do their own marketing these days, and with the rise of digital and mobile technology, a lot of marketing is done in quite innovative ways using a wide range of methods. Common industries (apart from advertising and PR) include recruitment, online retail, higher education, banking and IT. A lot of jobs in this industry are handled through recruitment agencies, so if you get in touch with them early, that might give you a headstart for some of the jobs available. But be careful — unpaid working is not the norm in the marketing industry, but it is more common than in most sectors.
