I'm in the third year of my course and we have very little contact hours - therefore based heavily on independent study. I quite like this though.

Course
The flexibility at the start is amazing. The Scottish system doesn’t get enough credit for how much freedom allows in your first year. Applying to a joint degree this was especially helpful as I wasn’t set on a pathway for definitive and could’ve chosen to pursue only one of my subjects relatively easily

Course
Teaching starts broad, about Biology and Psychology. Then gradually you get to specialise. By 3rd year, you basically get to specify properly. Teaching is always done in fairly small classes after 1st year. The number of lectures get less from 1st year to 4th year, but the number of practical hours increase. Teaching is usually really good and tutors are very enthusiastic. In 1st year, feedback is a little mixed and sometimes confusing but after that it's usually much more consistent
